The award winning web browser Firefox and Thunderbird mail client are both immensely popular apps from Mozilla. Both apps have huge audience base so it is more necessary to protect the users from attacks. In order to protect its users from attacks Mozilla has released updates for both Firefox and Thunderbird recently. According to Mozilla these updates should improve security and stability issues.
With the new update Mozilla Firefox has been updated to version 3.6.7 and 14 security holes have been fixed. Interesting thing is that more than half of these security holes were targeted as critical. As for Mozilla Thunderbird, this popular mail client has been updated to version 3.1, and this updated has patched few security holes and it has brought few minor fixes. Interesting thing when it comes to bugs and security holes is that Mozilla is offering $3000 for each bug found in any of the Mozilla’s software. With such a big money at stake, Mozilla will encourage developers to work harder on the security issues and at the same time it will encourage private bug reports from users.
