Turning on the $380 Amazon Kindle DX (Graphite) second-generation large format e-reader was all it took to see that Amazon’s claims of a higher contrast display than its predecessor were true. Te blacks truly look black, whereas the blacks on the original Kindle DX were grayish. The screen has a lighter, more solid background to its e-Ink display than the first generation did, too.

Mozilla Firefox has released the pre-beta (the version before release) of its popular browser yesterday. Many rumors were going around the tech world that Beta itself was released that’s not true. Mozilla Firefox plans to launch its beta version only this November. But the title bar proudly says that it’s “Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beta 1”. Frankly there is no major changes in the new version except for the tab’s design. The tab, when it loads has small loading picture there indicating the page loading. The tabs are also placed above the address bar, which was below the address bar in the previous versions.
